Public Art Then & Now Exhibit 2008
in partnership with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program
Posters for the People: Public Art Then & Now looked at the 75-year history of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), through the lens of posters created by artists for various federal governmental agencies and material from the Museum Extension Project, which are part of Design for Social Impact's collection.
Also included were posters designed by youth in the Mural Arts Project's Big Picture program led by silkscreen artist Candy DePew as a component of the Posters for the People Expo Festival, and were inspired by WPA-era posters.
